Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information we collect through vicarol.com, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. Vicarol is operated by Zinye Technologies ("Zinye", "we", "us") in Ontario, Canada. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable Ontario law.

What we collect

Vicarol is still in development, so we collect very little.

Early access form. If you join the early access list, we collect your email address and anything else you choose to enter, such as your name, your company and a note about how your team works. We also store the browser type and, when available, the IP address that sent the submission, to help us spot spam.
Server logs. Like most websites, our server records technical details of each request, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use them to keep the site working and secure.
A theme cookie. If you pick light or dark mode in the footer, we store that choice in a cookie called theme so the site remembers it. It holds no personal information.

We do not currently run analytics, advertising or tracking tools on this site. If that changes, we will update this page before it does.

To keep you updated about Vicarol, if you joined the early access list.
To reply if you write to us.
To run, secure and troubleshoot the website.

We will not sell your personal information. We only email you about Vicarol if you asked to be on the list, and every message will let you opt out.

Consent

We collect your information from the early access form with your consent, which you give by submitting it. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us. Withdrawing may mean we can no longer keep you updated.

Who we share it with

We use hosting and infrastructure providers to run the site and store form submissions. They handle information on our behalf and only for that purpose. We may also disclose information when the law requires it. We do not share early access submissions with advertisers or data brokers.

Where it is stored

Submissions are stored in the database that powers this site. Our hosting provider may keep data outside Canada, in which case it can be subject to the laws of that country. [Hosting location to be confirmed before launch.]

How long we keep it

We keep early access submissions until you ask us to remove them or until we no longer need them to tell you about Vicarol, whichever comes first. Server logs are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting. [Retention periods to be confirmed before launch.]

Safeguards

We protect personal information with access controls and encrypted connections (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. We will respond within a reasonable time and in line with PIPEDA. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

Children

Vicarol is a business product. This site is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Vicarol develops. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
